I was put through to Ms. Audrey Flynn who said she was willing to answer any questions that I had. I first asked her whether there was any iodine content in the powdered foods at present to which she answered 'no'
I then asked whether it would be possible to put iodine powder into the foods and she answered 'yes'
When I asked her about the taste of the foods she said that yes, she would be concerned about the taste if iodine was added.
I asked whether there were any vitamins added for health reasons and in what form they were added. She replied that they add Vitamins E, B6, B12 and that they are added in powder form. Ms. Flynn also told me that there were EC regulations regarding the amount of each vitamin in the food product.
She was unsure about regulations on iodine content since the company don't deal with the mineral at all.
I also rang another major food company-Erin. I spoke to Ms. Catherine Foley.
I asked her the same questions and got answers along the same lines as those from Knorr about Erin's foods and nutritional content
